Event Day Live Print
Event Day Live Print lets you print magnets on-site without an internet connection using the MagnetFrame Companion app. Prepare a print kit online before your event, and the Companion will automatically process photos from your camera folder and send them to your printer's hot folder. Session reports sync back to your account once you are online again.
How to
- From your event's Actions menu, select 'Prepare Event Day Printing'.
- Review the settings for copy counts, auto-enhancement, and hold rules, then click 'Prepare Kit'.
- While still online, open the MagnetFrame Companion app on your laptop. The print kit for your event will download automatically.
- At your event, select your camera's source folder and your printer's hot folder in the Companion app, then start the Live Print session.
- When the event is over, end the session in the Companion. Your session report will sync to your MagnetFrame account the next time you connect to the internet.
Common questions
What if I don't have internet at the event?
This feature is designed for offline use. As long as you prepare and download the print kit to the Companion app while you have internet, the entire on-site printing process works completely offline.
Can I change the magnet design or print settings during the event?
No, all design and print settings are locked into the print kit you prepare beforehand. To make changes, you would need an internet connection to prepare and download a new kit.
What happens to the photos that are printed?
The Companion app creates print-ready files and sends them to your printer. When you reconnect to the internet, a report of all printed images syncs back to your MagnetFrame event dashboard for your records.
Troubleshooting
The Companion app says 'No Print Kit Found' for my event.
Ensure you have completed the 'Prepare Event Day Printing' step for this specific event in the main MagnetFrame web app. Then, make sure your laptop is connected to the internet and restart the Companion app to trigger the download.
Photos are appearing in my camera folder, but they aren't printing.
Check that you have selected the correct source folder (from your camera) and the correct destination hot folder (for your printer) in the Companion app. Also, confirm that the Live Print session is running and not paused.
