Live Venue Slideshow

Project a live, auto-updating slideshow of event photos onto a screen at your venue. The slideshow runs through the desktop Companion app, either online from the event's cloud photo stream or completely offline from a watched camera folder. Customize transitions, timing, and optional overlays like the event's magnet frame.

How to

  1. In the web app, open your event's Actions menu and choose 'Live Venue Slideshow'.
  2. Configure your settings, such as transition style, seconds per photo, and photo order.
  3. Choose whether to display the magnet frame overlay, your studio name badge, or filter out blurry photos.
  4. Save your settings. They will sync automatically to the MagnetFrame Companion app for this event.
  5. At the venue, open the Companion app, go to the Slideshow tab, and start the presentation.
  6. New photos from your watched folder or cloud stream will appear on screen automatically.

Common questions

Does the slideshow require an internet connection at the venue?

No. The Companion app can run the slideshow completely offline by watching a local folder where your camera is saving new photos.

Can I change the slideshow settings while it's running?

Settings must be configured in the web app before starting. To apply new settings, stop the current slideshow, save your changes online, and then restart it in the Companion app.

Why isn't the magnet frame appearing on the slideshow photos?

Ensure the 'Frame photos' option is enabled in the slideshow settings for your event. You must also download the event's print-kit assets in the Companion app, as the slideshow uses these files to create the frame.

Troubleshooting

The slideshow is not updating with new photos.

If working offline, confirm the Companion app is watching the correct folder where your camera is saving new photos. If online, check your internet connection and ensure photos are successfully uploading to the event's photo stream.

The slideshow screen is black or shows a 'No Photos' message.

This typically means no photos have been added to the source folder or cloud stream yet. Also, check that the blurry/empty photo hold filter is not preventing your first images from appearing.
