Photo Booth Mode

Turn any event into a self-serve photo booth for guests. Set up your booth on the web, then run it completely offline using the MagnetFrame Companion app. Guests can take their own photos, choose a backdrop, and print their magnet instantly.

How to

  1. From your event's Actions menu, select 'Set up photo booth'.
  2. Configure your booth settings, including the countdown timer, max copies per guest, operator PIN, and a welcome title.
  3. Generate and add up to 10 themed AI backdrops for guests to choose from.
  4. Before the event, open the MagnetFrame Companion app on your computer while connected to the internet. This will download the booth kit for offline use.
  5. At the venue, launch the photo booth from the Companion app. Guests can now take photos and print them without an internet connection.
  6. After the event, reconnect the Companion app to the internet to sync all booth session data back to your event.

Common questions

Do I need an internet connection at the event venue?

No, the Photo Booth Mode is designed to run completely offline. You only need an internet connection before the event to download the booth kit to the MagnetFrame Companion app.

What happens if a guest wants more copies than the limit I set?

The guest will not be able to print more copies than the maximum you configured. You or an assistant can override this by entering the operator PIN you set during setup.

What is the difference between the Standard and Pro plan features?

The core offline photo booth is available on both plans. The Pro plan adds an optional online AI restyling feature, allowing guests to apply styles like 'cartoon' or 'watercolor' to their photo if an internet connection is available.

Troubleshooting

The Photo Booth option is missing or grayed out in the Companion app at my event.

This usually means the booth kit was not downloaded before going offline. Connect your computer to the internet, open the MagnetFrame Companion app, and let it sync with your event to download the necessary files.

Photos are not printing from the booth kiosk.

First, ensure your printer is properly connected and configured in your event's Live Print kit. Second, confirm that the Live Print kit was also synced to the Companion app while you were online, as it is required for printing.
