Community Venue Info
You can anonymously share a venue's technical details, like power availability and internet quality, with the MagnetFrame community. When another photographer works at the same venue, they will see an aggregated summary of this information. Your personal data, notes, and client information are never shared.
How to
- From any event, edit the venue's technical profile.
- Check the box labeled 'Share this venue's technical info anonymously with other photographers'.
- Click Save. Only the structured data for power and internet will be shared.
- To stop sharing, uncheck the box and save your changes at any time.
Common questions
What specific information is shared?
Only the structured technical data you enter is shared: power availability, internet connection type, and your rating of the internet quality. Your personal notes, event details, and identity are never shared.
Will other photographers know I was the one who shared the information?
No. All shared data is completely anonymous and aggregated. Other photographers will only see a summary, such as “2 photographers report: power good, Wi-Fi weak,” without any identifying details.
What happens if I change my mind and turn sharing off?
If you uncheck the sharing option and save, your data for that venue is immediately removed from the community pool. It will no longer be included in the aggregated hints shown to other photographers.
Troubleshooting
I don't see a community hint for a new venue I'm working at.
Community hints only appear if at least one other MagnetFrame photographer has previously worked at that exact address and opted to share their technical info. If no one has shared data for that venue yet, no hint will be displayed.
I updated my venue info, but the community hint doesn't seem to have changed.
The aggregated hint is updated periodically and may not reflect your changes instantly. Your contribution is also combined with others, so a single change may not significantly alter the summary if several photographers have submitted data.
